This is the album I had hoped SI would be; its got a groove thats been missing since ZZYZX, and its heavier as result. The backdrop of songs like Pygmalion Effect and Murder Sound bring to mind modern Gary Numan, in particular the 3 most recent primary albums, which is huge praise from me as these are some of my most accessed discs right now. Revengef*&% alone is worth the import price on this; its fantastic, just-the-right-amount-of-aggressive electro-sleaze, and I have yet to find a stereo that can play it loud enough. So, to summarize:1) 2.6.25 - ambient opening, really brief (um, 3/5?)2) Industrypeople - a return to Eurotrash, both the album and in this case the song (4/5)3) The Hate Alphabet - continuing in the same vein; its SI, but catchier and more propulsive (4/5)4) The Death of Romance - Its here that new types of melodies start to get presented and the songs become a bit more layered and emotional, but with great energy (5/5)5) The Pygmalion Effect - Starts slow, but Alex's singing is my favorite part of this in the dynamic chorus sections (5/5)6) Murder Sound \7) Revengef<^$ - Its like a power tetrahedron holding the album together, fav. tracks, #7 especially (5/5)8) Virgin Ring /9) The Plinth - /10 and 11: Mint and V: kind of like parts of a whole, a melancholy way to close (4/5)All in all, I've been playing this nonstop since I received it a few days ago;If you like the early 2000's zeromancer sound, I recommend this.
